The basic entry standard for the Dolphins is the ability to swim competently.
The aims
of the Dolphins are to improve basic stroke techniques,
starting and turning skills as well
as other competitive
skills, leading to ASA NPTS stroke awards and start awards.
Highly successful and enthusiastic Inter-Dolphin contests are arranged between
the four
Dolphin squads and the Newburn squad, three times
a year at the city pool to introduce
swimmers to
competitive swimming, and are held in March, July and November.
Promotion to the Super Dolphin
squad will be the joint responsibility of the Dolphin coach
and
the Swimming Development Officers
