Since the scheme was established in 1978 all areas have grown and allow for a large number of participants yet maintain a blance with performance.

 

All swimmers can reach different standards and the scheme has helped develop Olympians and Commonwealth Games Athletes. (Click here to see our achievements over the years.)

 

The City of Newcastle Amateur Swimming Club was created for swimmers to take part in competition.  It is one of the top clubs in the country.

 

The scheme caters for swimmers aged 6 upwards who wish to swim at a competitive level and has a range of squads to meet their needs.
