Time Trials (Sunday Swims)

The purpose of the Sunday Swim is to assess and monitor how each swimmer is developing, to evaluate swimmers strengths and weaknesses, such as stroke, pace, endurance, speed, start and turns, and to simulate a race siutation by providing a quality swim in a local environment.

Time trial results will be used as a guide to assist team selections for relays and the Durham and District Junior League and for promotion between squads.

The swims take place each month except August. The warm-up is at 0930 and the swim will last from 1000 hrs until 1230 hrs (approx).

Swimmers may enter a maximum of 2 events at any one time trial.  Squad coaches may advise which events a swimmer should enter.

Entry cards must be completed to show full name, date of birth, squad details and previous best time.

Entry cards must be posted in the entry card box at City Pool by 2000 hrs on the Friday night prior to the time trial.

It is expected that swimmers parents help with the running of the Sunday Swims.  The duties involved with for example, time-keeping or recording, are not arduous and the swims cannot be run without this help.

Please note that time trials are subject to gala commitments so please check notice boards for any changes.
